Manufactured circa 1813.by JK Picard who owned a lead works in Hull. These 1/2 penny copper tokens were used to pay the troops in the peninsular war of 1808- 1814. Later these tokens were shipped to Canada *.

GOOD FINE (gF): A fine coin with date and lettering that are clearly readable, and considerable wear to all its raised surfaces, but more fine detail is present on its main design, such as hairlines.

 

The obverse shows Wellington in military uniform wearing a laurel wreath while the reverse gives a list of the Peninsular battles with the last date being Madrid, August 12, 1812.
