French Mle 1866 Chassepot Bayonet dated Juin 1869
In a good overall condition with many clear Poincons and 2nd Empire inscription.
Manufactured at the Châtellerault Arsenal with matching serial numbers (J 81550)
 
Scabbard has no blueing remaining and has a small number of rust spots.
 
The serial number "J"prefix is unusual as the Châtellerault Arsenal prefixes are should be in the range A to C with the F to Q prefixes associated with the St Etienne Arsenal.
