P1842 French Yagathan Bayonet Chatterault Armoury manufactured May 1855, which is engraved on the spine. There is a possible unit number on the scabbard which is stamped F12, The cross guard is marked with the rack number 40, while its reverse has the number, 4010. The frog loop attachment has been period removed.
